'Root" your next Adirondack Park trip around some of these great Adirondack's culture and historical places. You'll find yourself returning over and over again, as learning is essential to our souls and minds. So much to do, so much to visit. Did you know that Vice President Theodore Roosevelt was traveling through the Adirondacks when he heard he had to return because the President was shot? Or did you know that the abolitionist, John Brown's homestead is in Lake Placid? Some our Great Camps are still standing strong and still get the visits of the presidential and the prestigious. Fort Ticonderoga is only one fort example of our testament to our fight for freedom. Miners, loggers, artisans and cure cottages are another part of our rich cultural history. Works of Robert Louis Stevenson and Winslow Homer are a few to mention! The list goes on and on!
Below, for your exploration, are lists and lists ... museums, interpretive centers, heritage tours, performing arts and visual arts. For more museums (click here). Please enjoy our Adirondack Park's heritage. Many thanks!

Food for Thought:
I believe in intuition and inspiration.
Imagination is more important than
knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas
imagination embraces the entire world,
stimulating progress, giving birth to
evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real
factor in scientific research.
