Gore Mountain Regional Directory
Gore Ski Mountain - 344 acres and 3 peaks to ski! 2,100' vertical, 11 lifts, 85 trails including 12 glades and 3,583' at the summit. Gore Mountain wasn't listed this year as one of New York's Natural Wonders, but it sure feels wonderful skiing down these slopes! One of this writer's personal favorite ski spots, and I've skied many mountains out west. Yet come for yourself and check it out! It is a must. The downtown Village of North Creek is charming too, and worth a side trip. Johnsburg (originated in 1805) consist of the following hamlets: Bakers Mills, Johnsburg, North Creek, North River, Riparius and Wevertown with a population of 2,352

How Does One Get to Some
Great Skiing at Gore Mountain?
By car from the SOUTH: NYS Thruway to exit 24, take I-87 (Northway) to exit 23 (Warrensburg), go thru town on Route 9 for about 4 miles, then take a left on Route 28 at the fork, go about 16 miles to Peaceful Valley Road, see #793 "Gore Mountain." By car from the NORTH: I-87 (Northway) to exit 26 (Pottersville), then follow the Gore Mountain signs through Olmstedville, left on Route 28N to North Creek. Then turn left onto Route 28 and then right on Peaceful Valley Road, see #793 "Gore Mountain." By car from the WEST: I-90 (NYS Thruway) east to Utica, take Route 8 heading Nor from Utica to North Creek; take a left onto Peaceful Valley Road for about 5 miles, see #792 "Gore Mountain."
