North Country Maple Sugaring

Sweet beginnings start in the Adirondacks.  Call them before visiting!

Settlers were taught by the Native American how to tap maple trees for their sweet surprise.  Hot rocks evaporated the sweet sap until only the "Sinzibukwud" (sugar) remained.  Pioneers would boil a year's supply.  It takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup.  We appreciate reciprocal links  Please patronized our sweeter businesses.  Listings posted with an are "Facebook" friendly.    Also visit our directory of Farms (click here).  Support the 100-mile diet plan!
