Santa Clara NY was formed from parts of the Town of Brandon, named after the founder's wife. The town's history included two large lumber mills, machine shop, chair factory (see history) and Santa Clara enjoys the Saint Regis Canoe Area (19,000 acre wilderness area with 58 ponds). Santa Clara has hamlets of Bay Pond, Derrick, Everton, Floodwood, Kildare, Madawaska, Spring Cove. Other lakes in Santa Clara include Madawaska Pond, Weller Pond and Middle Saranac Lake.
There may not be a lot of businesses in Santa Clara but there is lots of history and natural resources (great waterways for Paddling). |
